Bandit

He came into the shelter with what appeared to be a deformed leg. What it actually turned out to be was previous nerve damage in his shoulder area that then caused his leg's tendons to tighten up. Because he didn't receive immediate care whenever his injury occurred, his leg had to be removed. On June 5th, 2009 he had his front leg amputated by our rescue. He will have a long recovery ahead of him but then he will be back to his hippity-hop self and ready to find his furr-ever home.
"Bandit waiting for his great escape from the shelter. Will anyone help me, please?"
"Waiting for word from the vet what to expect...boy are we anxious..."

"On Wednesday (Oct. 7th) we had a Lhasa mix come in.  Horrible skin problems.  He wreaked of infection. Lots of mats down to the skin with puss coming from underneath.  We had to sedate him to shave him down.  He had significant, deep hot spots all over his body, some bloody, most oozing puss.  The skin scraping was positive for sarcoptic mange.  We were amazed not to find maggots.

Is this something you would want to take on? He's about one year old and seems very friendly. We started him on pred and antibiotics and applied revolution.  4 pics attached.

No problem if this is too much of a project.  Just have to ask because you're the only ones who would take him."

Thanks,
M.
