Momma was at the shelter and had such a matted coat that she just looked like an overweight gray Poodle. When we were asked to groom the Poodle for the shelter in hopes of helping her get adopted, we gladly obliged. Only to get a call that our "over-weight" gray Poodle wasn't quite all that she seemed...instead of gray, she is a beautiful white and she was also very pregnant. When the shelter was notified we were asked to take her in and 3 days later, 5 new little ones came bounding into our foster home.

5 puppies born to Mom on March 1st and an "adopted" puppy added to the litter on March 4th. You get to guess which one isn't from Momma Heidi originally!

Momma Heidi came into our rescue very pregnant and on March 1st she had 5 beautiful babies. A few days later she took over Mom duties of a puppy (Gucci's) whose Mom needed a C-section and could not care for him. The puppies are now 8 weeks old and will be going to their new homes on Sat. May 2nd.

Momma Heidi is a Miniature Poodle and Dad was a wander/wonder dog. He wandered in and we wonder what he was! It's pretty clear since none of the pups have Mom's poodle coat, that Dad may have been a Terrier of some sort. Pups are still small and we estimate will be under 15lbs. All have varying degrees of the soft wire fur. Several have beautiful green eyes that came from someone! All were raised in a foster home with 5 kids, dogs and a cat. They are all wonderfully sociable and friendly. They get along great with everyone and have had a fabulous start in life.

We will consider homes with kids who have experience with small dogs. We expect the puppies to be under 15lbs when full grown. Momma Heidi is about 10lbs.
Giorgio: Has beautiful green eyes and is Mr. Explorer. He loves to get into things, out of things and go where no one has gone before (or at least where no one was suppose to go before!). He loves to be the "guide" for the rest of the group who blindly follows him into whatever trouble he can find and trust us, he finds it all. He is also a snuggler. So after he's been naughty he wants nothing more then to snuggle up to you to prove how much he really does love you. And as soon as he wins you over again, he's off to explore some more.

Armani: He was the first to learn to come when called. He has been most responsive to any type of training. He can be on the observant side and just want to hang back and watch before jumping in. He lets his brother do the exploring while he cautiously scopes everything out. He's a pleaser and a dreamer. He has a wonderful personality.
Versace: She's the playful one with green eyes as well. She will hide around the corner waiting for her unsuspecting siblings to come out to play and BOOM she jumps on them. She's definitely our "sneak attacker" of the litter. But she doesn't reserve all her antics for her canine siblings. She has no problem sneaking up on the family as they stumble into the kitchen in the morning, hoping to get a cup of coffee before tackling the day when they are suddenly surprised by this 3lbs puppy who attacks their feet. Nothing quite like waking up to Versace in the morning! Versace loves to play with toys or anything she can conceive as a toy which includes tree branches, brooms, pop cans, etc.

Prada: She is affectionately known as Elvis in the group because of her sideburns. She also has green eyes and is the most affectionate of the litter. She loves to give kisses and be held and cuddled. She is a little girl who just wants to be with her people. Where you are, there she is too.

Vera: Like her twin sister Versace she has green eyes. She looks very similar to Versace but she's the quieter one of the two. She won't make a peep, won't intrude, won't demand and certainly won't attack your feet or pajamas in the morning! She will actually stumble in, hoping to find a "pick me up" too. She loves to be held and cuddled but will never demand it. The only time Vera makes herself known is when her tummy is growling and a hungry puppy makes for a loud puppy. But fill her stomach and she's quiet as a church mouse.
Gucci: She's 1/2 the size of the rest of her littermates. She is the "adopted" sister. Her mom is a 5lbs Chihuahua (see Whelping Box, "Think outside the Box" on our website, to see Momma Belle and siblings Pino and Chees). She may be small in stature but wait until you meet her. She is all personaity. They say mighty things come in small packages? Well, here's proof positive. This little girl is not afraid to boss her siblings around and let them know what the days tasks are and if one is in Mom's lap and she wants to be, trust us, she will scoot her sibling right out. If one of the kids are holding someone and she wants to be held, it doesn't take long before she's in their arms and the other sibling is out! Gucci knows her own mind and she's not afraid to let anyone else know what she is thinking. She in true Chi form, loves people, loves to be held and is truly a "purse" dog. She will easily fit in a purse and will be happy to go shopping as long as you don't forget to buy her something!
Reunion on July 18, 2009

Hi all, 

What a great reunion we had yesterday. It was so much fun to see Marley, Okie, and Ollie together again! Let's try to do it again soon. Hopefully next time, we'll get the whole litter together.
