December:
Our beautiful sweet December is a 4 month old JRT-Beagle mix who is as mellow as they come. Sure he's a puppy and being mellow doesn't mean he won't play but he's not a non-stop activity boy. He likes to cuddle and snuggle and his tail wags non-stop when he's in his foster mom's arms. When he jumps up on the couch to sit next to her, he just glows. He is a lover boy.
December is expected to be in the 35lbs-40lbs range when full grown. We are expecting a truly med. size dog with our boy. He has some long legs, much like the long-legged JRT. He has that hound look as he ponders the squeeky toy that his foster mom is usually holding and/or in mid stream of throwing. December lives with dogs, cats and children. He is well socialized with all of them.
December is initially on the quiet and shy side and then he really blossoms. He becomes the open, loving, "excited to greet the day" boy that we know and love. He's an excellent option for kids. He won't be too much for them and they won't be too much for him!
July:
July is a 3-4 month old male Husky mix, possibly with Golden Lab puppy who is currently living in a foster home with dogs, cats and kids. He came over to the US from Taiwan. (To see more about our Taiwan rescues: http://www.dpsrescue.com/taiwan.html. July will be about 35-40lbs when full grown. Most puppies we get from Taiwan are rarely bigger than 40lbs. Right now he's about 10lbs.
July is a sweet, outgoing boy once he is comfortable with you. He tends to survey his surroundings and once he gets to know you, he's all over you! Within about 48 hours in his foster home he was a typical puppy by getting into everything and exploring everyone that came through the door. July is full of energy and fun without being over the top energetic.
July is a great option for a home that has dogs, cats and/or kids. He is friendly and outgoing and will not be so overwhelming to kids at this point. Very soon though, he'll need to be taught the basics of obedience and he's up for the challenge! July loves to play with toys, loves to play with the kids and was a hit at the dog park.
March:
March is a 3-4 month old Husky-Lab mix who came from Taiwan with several siblings. She will be in the 35-40lbs range when full grown. She is currently living in a foster home with dogs, cats and kids. March is a quiet girl who loves to play with her siblings. She loves to play with toys and is usually found curled up in a plush doggie bed when she's done playing for the day.
In the beginning she was a little nervous when she was picked up. Now she loves to snuggle and cuddle in the foster's arms. She was initially shy and would hide away and now she comes running to the foster parents and family ready to be loved. Her first day or so in her new home she'll be shy but with lots of treats and lots of love she will quickly come out of her shell.
March does not have the double thick coat that Huskie's normally do but she has more of the Lab type of coat.
May:
May and June are two of 12 recent puppies to make the 17 hour voyage from Taiwan. To see more about our Taiwan rescue efforts, please see Project Taiwan: http://www.dpsrescue.com/taiwan.html. May and June are about 4 months old. They are currently living in a foster home with dogs, cats and kids. They are appropriately playful and energetic without being over the top. They have their fun and then they like to relax and be mellow with the family. They love to hang out with the family. They're both total cuddly puppies who can't get enough of your love and affection. They both are expected to be in the 35-40lbs range when full grown.
May has a sweet, calm, mellow demeanor. She doesn't get too excited about anything except when she sees her Mom come home after work. Then it's exciting for a few moments until her Mom picks her up and then it's all about the snuggles and cuddles. May has mastered the doggy door in her foster home. She also is accustomed to sleeping in a crate with her sister at night.
May doesn't mind the cats. They are free roaming in the house and come and go, jumping into play with the puppies in their room and area and when they're bored, the cats jump back out and go their merry way, leaving the puppies wanting them to come back and play more! May has a wonderful disposition and will make an excellent choice with kids.
