God Bless America

Foster Mom's Kelli and Teri are at again. This time they have a litter of 5. Mom is a Chihuahua and guess what all the pups look like? Yep, tiny little apple-head Chi's. Pups are about 4 weeks old in these pictures and will be up for adoption near Christmas time.

Here is our God Bless America Litter:
Mom: Georgia
Babies: Montana (Monty), Minnesota (Minnie), Kentucky (Kenny), Maryland and Dakota.

Scruffy aka Stalker Nanny is a wanna-be Mom. Every time a litter comes into her home she just wants to be their Mom. She can't wait until they are old enough to love on them and play with them. She may never have had a litter of her own, but you'd never know it seeing her in action.

Momma Georgia spotted the toy box the minute she saw entered the house and she dive bombed into it and came up with a mouth full of toys. Forget her pups, she was having a blast with all her new toys. Eventually she did make it back to the pups once she was "drunk" on playing with all the new toys.

Update: Jan. 3, 2010

Our God Bless America litter is approx. 11 weeks old as of Jan. 2nd. Mom is a Chihuahua (Georgia) who weighs about 8-10lbs. The litter came from the shelter when they were just days old. Mom was initially quite protective of her little babies but soon acclimated to her foster home. They lived in a foster home with dogs, cats and kids. They have been well socialized. They love to play with toys, love to play with other dogs and are excited to be with their people.

The two smallest are probably not options for real small children. The bigger two of the litter are definitely better options if there are kids in the home.
Minnesota: Minnie is large and in charge. She is the largest girl in the litter, weighing in at 2.5lbs. Oh yeah, real big! She is lively, excited, friendly, outgoing and very personable. Give her a chance to snuggle and she's right there cuddling away with you! This will be one who walks in the house and is ready to play! Minnie will probably be in the 7-8lbs range when full grown.

Kentucky:
Kenny is the largest boy at 3lbs. He will probably be in the 8-9lbs range. He is happy to be the center of someone's world. He will gladly greet you at the door and jump right into your arms. If you're busy, he'll entertain himself until you're ready to play with him. He's a great option for kids.
Dakota: He's the smallest in the group. He doesn't quite tip the scales at 1.5lbs yet. He will eventually...we think...He will be in the 5lbs range when full grown. Dakota is a lover boy. No one has told him he's the pip squeak of the litter. Instead, he's happy to be in the midst of all the chaos and loves playing with others. He is full of personality and in fact, most of his weight must be personality!
Montana: Monte is just a little Momma's boy. He wants to be with his foster mom. Everything requires a hug and a kiss. Everything is about holding him and cuddling with him. Don't start out with him in the bed or he plans never to leave! He swears he won't always require his own pillow...ok, maybe...
Maryland, is the smallest little girl in the litter. She is about 1 1/2 lbs - 2lbs now. We expect she will be in the 5-6lbs range when full grown. She will initially appear to be shy and reserved. But oh, don't let her fool you. She will jump right into the fray and she's not shy to demand her food. Once she knows who you are she'll be stuck to you like glue. Hopefully you have a purse available for the little girl to shop with you or hang out with you. And an open lap is a bonus!
