Help Free a Jailhouse Dog

This guy is a 10 month old Golden Lab-Retriever-Aussie mix. He's about 60lbs.
This gal is a 6 month old, 25lbs, Australian Cattle Dog mix. We expect she'll be in the 35lbs range when full grown.

Additional THANKS to the following folks who without your help, we could not have saved these two dogs!
You are miracle workers.

•  Thank you, Baglan, for bailing out Jailhouse Dog #12, now named Victory

This guy is currently at the shelter and has been for sometime. He is a 5 year old Shepherd-Chow mix whose family was evicted and he too found himself homeless. Despite the overpopulation in the shelter he is currently in, they have held onto him because he's a great dog. Many other great dogs have passed through their doors but they weren't able to keep but this one holds a special place in all of their hearts. Perhaps it's the "High 5's" he gives that makes all the difference to the staff or perhaps it's the cheerful, outgoing nature. Something has captured their heart. Unfortunately our boy has been given his "date" and that means if he doesn't find a home he will be euthanized.

Thank You to Joy F. for helping save his life!
Jailhouse Dog #004
This stunningly beautiful 10 month old girl is a Lab-Shepherd who is friendly and outgoing and wants nothing more than to escape this very high kill shelter. She ran up to the cage and was wiggling her rear end and couldn’t sit still. She was desperate for love and attention. We gave her a few of our treats that we had and she was so gentle in taking them and so grateful.

Jailhouse Dog #005

This is a beautiful 5 year old black Lab male who is neutered. He lived previously with other dogs. He has a gorgeous full black coat. Clearly he has been someone’s pet and has been loved by someone. Unfortunately he was turned in when his family lost their home to foreclosure. He has a week to escape this high kill shelter.
Jailhouse Dog #006

Lily is a 10 month old Boxer-Shepherd who is an excited, friendly gal. She was adopted by a family from the shelter as a puppy and then given away to another family who recently lost their home and now she is back at the shelter where her time is limited. She is ready to go to a forever home. She lived previously with other dogs. She’s a beautiful girl who needs a family that wants a young, energetic, friendly gal who will greet you with kisses and can’t wait to go to training and become the beautiful well behaved girl she was destined to be.

Jailhouse Dog #007

She’s a beautiful Boston Terrier-something kind of wire-haired Terrier mix. She’s about 25-30lbs full grown. She is playful and outgoing and has such a spunky spirit. She needs a home! She’s still at the shelter, hoping and praying that someone will help her get out of jail!

Jailhouse Dog #8

He's a young Maltese-Shih Tzu who is in great need of a grooming but he has all the personality in the world. He's been overlooked because he stinks and desperately needs some help from a salon. But we see his inner-beauty and we know with a hair cut and a bath, he'll be a dog who everyone wants! Please help us save him. He will make a wonderful pet for someone if we're able to save him.

Jailhouse Dog #9

How can you possibly resist this guy? He's so full of personality and spunk. We are dying to grab this guy up and just take him home in our bag. He's a young Poodle mix with PERSONALITY! Give this guy a chance out of the shelter, please.

Jailhouse Dog #10

Just another Poodle who will be overlooked but we didn't! We want to save him. He's sweet and he's friendly. He's getting sadder and sadder by the day while he waits in his "jail cell" for someone to spring him!
Jailhouse Dog #11

After 5 years of being a loyal, loving, obedient pet, Pal was dropped off at the shelter by his owners. He's being replaced by a "newer" model and they don't have time for Pal now. He's wanted by us and we want to give him the fur-ever home he deserves instead of sitting in a cell and then his last memory of being taken off to a room with strangers to be euthanized.
Special thanks to: Paul for his donation made in honor of Mika!

Jailhouse Dog #12

This gorgeous boy is looking for either a foster or a forever home. He is about 5-7 years old and has totally won over the officers at the shelter. He knows sit, stay, paw, come and they are working on "roll over". He takes daily walks with the senior citizens who visit the shelter and he easily walks with them. He likes to stroll along and he doesn't pull or tug.

He is an ideal candidate for someone who is home more than not. He wants to be a part of the family or part of whatever you are doing. He doesn't like being left out of the excitement. He has a very typical Lab personality at this age where he is relaxed, fun loving, without a lot of high energy. He is at that ideal age where he likes to lounge with you, if you're up for a walk so is he, if you're feeling like curling up under the blankets on a cold winter day, well, so is he...

The officers at the shelter have to let him out of his cage every day at least twice a day as he refuses to go to the bathroom in his cage. He has to go outside. So, acclimating him to the house will be easy but our assessment is he was easily someone's house dog before ending up at the shelter as a stray.
Jailhouse Dog #13

Our time is limited on this girl!

Sorry this dog is not available for foster to adopt or to the public. If we are able to save her, she will be available for adoption in the future. We were called and asked if we would take this dog in because she has sarcoptic mange, which is highly contagious to people and other animals. If she receives treatment it goes away fairly quickly. (It's the best kind of mange because you never have to deal with it again!) The shelter started the treatment but said they can only keep her a couple of days due to it being contagious.
Jailhouse Dog #14

This is our JH #14. He is looking pretty scruffy but we know what a beauty he will become underneath all of that. He is at a high kill shelter where he sits in a cage by himself, looking and smelling pretty bad. But he's really a loving sweet boy. We took him out and hugged him and loved on him and he wanted love soooo bad...

Jailhouse Dog #15

He's Mr. Happy. He may be stinky and smelly but he doesn't care and after a few minutes with him, you don't care either. His personality just shines right through all that! Unfortunately folks walking by him at the shelter don't see past his grooming needs and his time is running out quickly. He was turned in to the shelter when his family moved which gave him less time than normal to find his fur-ever home.

He is hoping to make it out of jail. He'll need to be groomed but we think he's a boy worth saving. Don't you?
Jailhouse Dog #16

He came into the shelter with sarcoptic mange. It's the easily curable but contagious type until he receives treatment. So he needs a quick ride out of the shelter so we can save his life! We have the ability to treat him and keep him away from others. We've successfully treated several others and desperately want to save his life, too!

Jailhouse Dog #17

He's a young, Lhasa mix who is friendly and outgoing. He loves people and gets along well with other dogs.
Jailhouse Dog #18

Cutie pie who because he's black isn't likely to find his way out of the shelter. We don't mind, we love him! We want to take him into our rescue.

Jailhouse Dog #19

This beautiful little girl is missing her front leg. She has some type of internal issue going on as she is losing her hair and it's not mange related. She will require a blood work up to determine what exactly isn't working well inside. We hate to leave her behind as we know that not many will want her with the medical issues and uncertainty that are looming. We want to help her!

Jailhouse Dog #20

This little guy is a friendly one but he's in with a mean dog at the shelter who usually guards him and won't let anyone even see him. We managed to get a quick video of him without the mean other dog. Most folks aren't going to be able to overlook the other dog who is snarling and attacking the cage while this little guy's tail is just wagging back and forth!

Jailhouse Dog #21

This little guy broke our heart. His spirit is so broken he's not really even trying to make a plea for himself. He sits back and when you call him or give him a treat through the bars he just looks at you. He did eventually get up but you could feel that he just has lost all hope inside. We ended up leaving in tears when we had to leave him behind. Help us save him, please!
